Yogi the Plumber faces a new challenge. Standing water(no, not standing on water). Standing on water is a  miracle. Standing water is a problem. The problem is in our downstairs bathroom sink. It’s been very slow to drain as of late. My little miracle worker is the snake.

First thing first.  Meditate on the trap. Place a plastic bucket under the trap. Don’t you just love that name- “the trap”. I think it’s great. Now remove the trap.

The Trap

Once the trap has been removed, push the end of the snake into the drain opening. The snake now begins its journey down the drain. This part is where it all comes together- smells, loud noise, dirt hands, forces pushing, turning. Relax close your eyes feed, feed, feed the snake until it comes to a stop then rotate. Feed again – rotate. Just imagine where the snake is behind your wall, under your house, perhaps another world.

The journey begins

Time to come home. Your journey is over for now- rest. I see you’ve brought presents from other worlds. I was wondering where that toothbrush went to. You will notice that the hair on the end (actually beginning) of the snake is not mine.

Our trap was really clogged with hair and unidentified white sludge. I gave it a good cleaning with the newly found toothbrush and replaced the trap- not too tight. Turned on the taps and hallelujah!
